What Is Pet Reiki?
Pet Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive form of energy healing offered to animals in the same spirit as human Reiki — with calm intention, compassionate presence, and deep respect for the animal's natural rhythms.
Animals are highly intuitive and naturally receptive to energy work. Rather than directing energy onto a pet, Diane creates a peaceful space and allows the animal to draw in as much or as little healing energy as they choose. Sessions are always led by the pet's comfort and readiness.
Diane Wentzel, RN and Certified Reiki Healer (Usui Levels I–IV), offers Pet Reiki both in person throughout the south Chicago suburban area and at a distance for clients nationwide.
Each session is individualized to the animal's needs, temperament, and current state of health.
Who Is This For?
Pet Reiki may be supportive for animals who are:

Diane's 40+ year career as a Registered Nurse brings a grounded, observant presence to every session — an ability to read subtle shifts in the body and respond with care. These same skills translate naturally to working with animals, who communicate entirely through body language and energy.
She is certified in Usui Reiki Levels I, II, III, and IV. Her approach to Pet Reiki blends:
Clinical awareness of physical and behavioral cues
Intuitive, patient energy healing
Deep respect for the animal's autonomy and pace
Compassionate support for pet owners navigating difficult seasons
Diane never forces contact. Sessions are always guided by what the animal is willing to receive.
What’s Included in Your Session
Each session begins with a brief conversation with you (the pet owner) to understand:
- Your pet's current health and history
- Behavioral or emotional concerns
- Any recent changes in routine, environment, or health status
- Your goals for the session
Based on your pet's needs and comfort level, Diane may incorporate:
Reiki energy healing (hands-on or hands-above, as the animal allows)
Crystal support (used with intention in the healing space)
Calming environmental suggestions for your pet's space
Gentle wellness guidance (when appropriate)
Your pet remains free to move, settle, or reposition throughout the session — their comfort always comes first.
Sessions typically last 45–60 minutes.

Animals cannot be told what to expect — which means their responses are entirely authentic. Many pets who begin a session restless or wary settle deeply within minutes.
In-Person vs. Distance Sessions
In-Person Pet Reiki is available throughout the south Chicago suburban area. Diane comes to your home, creating a familiar and comfortable environment for your pet.
Distance Pet Reiki is available nationwide. Sessions are conducted via Zoom with you present. Diane will guide you through what to observe while directing healing energy to your pet remotely. Distance sessions are especially well-suited for:
- Animals who are stressed by visitors or new people
- Pets who are too ill or fragile to be disturbed
- Clients located outside of Illinois
